2006 — New Directions
Chris Justice joins Merchant Link as president and welcomes The Greenbrier Resort – the first company to sign on to Merchant Link's solution for the hotel industry. This same year, Merchant Link processes its first TransactionVault transaction.

With the launch of TransactionVault and the debut of a hotel industry solution, Merchant Link is making significant strides in product offerings and positioning itself a leader in the area of payment solutions.
2004 — Compliance Milestone
As Merchant Link celebrates its first year of PCI compliance, it demonstrates to clients that it understands the complexity of the issue, as well as how to achieve it.
2003 — Security Issues on the Rise
Security issues take center stage on the nightly news as several large and well known firms experience data breaches. At Merchant Link, discussion turns to the feasibility of the TransactionVault product, which is being designed to protect merchants by removing card data from the site and securing it in a remote vault.
2002 — A New Era
With Chuck Harris taking the helm at Merchant Link, there's an increased focus on technological innovation. This same year, Chase Paymentech acquired NXT and merged it with Merchant Link's gateway, bringing gateway technology in house and enabling more efficient and effective product updates.
2001 — The Right Tool
In the early years of the internet boom, brick and mortar merchants lagged behind their online counterparts in internet sales. But it didn't take long before they began to catch up. Merchant Link helped provide First Horizon with one of the first Internet gateways for brick and mortar merchants.
1999 — Giving Customers What They Want
At the height of the Internet boom, online retailers are looking for faster, more secure ways to transmit their data. Merchant Link, which is at the forefront of gateway technology, signs its first gateway client, First Horizon.
1998 — Growing Fast
Merchant Link's success means hiring more resources to support clients and operations, but more resources means less space. As a result, Merchant Link outgrows its Bethesda office and relocates to Silver Spring into its current address.
1997 — Continuing Momentum
When it comes to payment partners, clients are looking for financial stability. With the acquisition of Merchant Link by Chase Paymentech Solutions, Merchant Link is now aligned with a leader in payment processing since 1985 and backed by .J.P. Morgan Chase.
1996 — Forward Motion
Merchant Link's reputation is steadily growing as it is now processing 5 million transactions per month and handling over 1200 calls per month at the call center.
1994 — Gaining Ground
Once again, customer support is at the forefront of priorities as Merchant Link is now able to offer clients a call center that's staffed 24x7.
1993 — Merchant Link Launches with Payments Leader at the Helm
It's not surprising that Merchant Link's first hire after incorporation was a technical support rep. The company has built its reputation on providing first class support to clients beginning on day one. This first year, Merchant Link also signed a contract with MICROS, establishing a strong partnership that that would benefit the company for years to come.
